About the Author and Illustrator
Rania is a third generation West Virginian and founder of The LiTEArary Society, a 501 (c)(3) entirely youth-led nonprofit organization with the mission of ending book deserts for disadvantaged preschool children (Head Start). Rania’s work to end book deserts for children in Head Start has been featured in national media including Good Morning America, NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt (Inspiring Kids), Teen Vogue, NBC Today and Fox News.
In June 2022, West Virginia Governor Jim Justice awarded Rania with the honor of “Distinguished Mountaineer,” for her West Virginia Head Start Road Tour project, where she donated a brand-new book to every child in Head Start in the entire state of West Virginia- 6778 in total.
On September 28, 2022, Forbes named Rania as one of six Teens Making the World a Better Place in their annual Forbes Teens Changing the World roundup.
